On the 10th of July 2019 the decision was made by the Department of Conservation to decline the application from Manaaki Group Holdings Limited for a tourism development in the Moerangi Valley, Whirinaki Te Pua A Tane Conservation Park. The application was declined under Sections 17U(2)(a), 17U(3), 17U(8) and 17W of the Conservation Act 1987.
